We work extremely hard to provide Coaches you can trust in our program.

Our coaching staff all meet the following criteria: 

  1. Played the game at a high level (college/profesionally)

  2. Have completed Coastal Stars Coach's Training

  3. Are quality role models 

  4. Prioritize player development

  5. Use baseball to nurture players and relationships for life success

Trent Jones - Owner and Head Coach 

Jones, the owner of the Coastal Stars, played collegiately at Emmauel University. Jones went on to sign with Emmanuel College where he would prove to be a great asset to the team. The infielder posted a career average of .352 while setting numerous records at the school. Jones graduated from Emmanuel in 2016 and majored in Business Management. He also played summer ball in the Sunbelt Collegiate Summer league in 2013-2015, where he was named an All-Star in 2015. He also ended the 2015 summer season in the Coastal Plains Collegiate Summer league. Jones now devotes his time to furthering other Baseball careers through the management of the Coastal Stars program.

Justin Jones - Coach and Head of Player Development 

Coach Justin is a graduate of Houston County High School and Georgia State University. Justin was a 4 year starter at shortstop at Georgia State, and is the Panthers career leader in infield assists and sacrafice bunts. One of just 12 players in GSU history with 200 career hits, 100 RBI and 100 runs scored. Following his college career, Justin spent 3 years in the Los Angeles Angels Minor League System from 2018-2020 and played a total of 5 years professionally. Coach Justin has experience professionally at all 4 infield positions as well as catcher. Justin is the Stars head of player development.

Chase Bruno - Coach and Coordinator

Coach Bruno played Collegiately at Montreat, Coker, and Embry Riddle. As a middle infielder, Chase was an AAC Gold Glove Team, Shortstop (2022), AAC All-Academic Team member, 2024 1st Team ASSC member, ASSC batting title winner, 2024 ASSC all defensive team (2B). Chase currently resides in Myrtle Beach SC and is responsible for managing SC teams and players. Chase is passionate about player development and works with dozens of players on a weekly basis as an instructor.

Josh Profit - Coach

Coach Profit is a graduate of Houston County high school and the University of North Georgia. Josh had an outstanding outfield career at the University of North Georgia and helped lead the Nighthhawks to multiple conference championships. Two time Peach Belt Conference Freshman of the Week with a career batting average of .295 and career OBP of .395 in over 400 career at bats. Josh specializes in outfield defense and offense instruction. 

Kedric Zimmer - Coach, Pitching Instructor, CSCS

Coach Zimmer is a former player, now instructor for The Coastal Stars. Zimmer has a bachelors in Kinesiology and Master's Degree in Exercise Science. Zimmer played collegiately at Emmanuel University as a RHP. As a freshman, Zimmer was an impact player for the Lions as he logged 18 IP. Zimmer now is a head coach for the Stars, specializing in Pitching instruction, strength training, and head coaching.

Hunter Parks- Coach

Coach Parks is an Auburn GA native and Graduate of Emmanuel University. Coach Parks possesses a BS in Physical Education and Masters in Sports Coaching. Parks was a key piece in the Lions Bullpen over his collegiate career. Amassing 108 innings with 102 strikeouts over his career with . Coach Parks is a head coach with the Stars.

Cameron Jones- Coach 

Coach Cam played collegiately at Georgia State and Georgia Tech. Jones has countless career awards and accolades. Some include: three-time First-Team All–Sun Belt Conference selection and one of the most accomplished two-way players in GSU program history. A four-year letterwinner, including national recognition as a finalist for the John Olerud Two-Way Player of the Year Award. GSU single-season stolen base record holder, ranked Top 10 all-time in GSU program in both wins and saves. Career .334 college hitter with 92 career stolen bases. A true 2 way talent that brings remarkable experience and knowledge to our program.

Cal Gentry- Coach 

Coach Gentry is a graduate of Georgia College and State University. One of the most decorated GCSU Bobcats in History. Some of his playing accolades include: 2x ALL PBC, NCAA All Tournament Team, 2X PBC Freshman of the week, 3rd in Career At Bats, 4th in Career Hits (304) in GCSU History.

Daniel Sprinkle - Coach

Daniel Sprinkle is originally from Pine Bluff, Arkansas and joined the Coastal Stars coaching staff in 2023. Daniel was a 15th round draft pick by the Cleveland Indians out of high school in 2015 before pitching at Auburn University and Henderson State University. Daniel joins the staff with a strong pitching background and will be a head coach and pitching coach for the Stars. 

Matt Richardson - Coach

Matt is a graduate of Northside High School in Warner Robins GA where he played and spent some time coaching. Matt currently teaches and coaches at North Paulding High School, where he leads one of the most competitive Baseball programs in the state. Matt is the head coach for the North Paulding Wolfpack.
